Independent Status Reports (February 2, 2004)

February should be an interesting month and will likely see the next major releases of Mozilla Firebird (0.8) and Mozilla Thunderbird (0.5). Each milestone will bring greater usability, better features, and increased stability. At least that's the plan! In the meantime, developer's are continuing to dream up and create their extensions to make the software even more attractive. A case in point... in this month's report read how you can monitor the weather in your local area from the Thunderbird email client.

Note: If anyone has an update that they would like included in the next report, go here, or have any feedback on the structure of the reports in general, feel free to contact us.

easyGestures — v2.5.1

(Adds UI with mouse gestures and customizable actions)

This new eG features an option to use small icons for those who prefer a small UI.

You now have no reason for not using it (read this http://easygestures.mozdev.org/faq.html).

Give it a try and enjoy the efficiency and comfort of a pie menu.

QuickNote — v0.5

(A note taking extension slightly modeled after 'Post-It', 'Sticky', and the 'Quick Notepad' plugin for jEdit.)

0.5 is a huge release with many many new features. (ChangeLog)

Notable Highlights

  • Improved Mozilla suite support (sidebar, prefs, etc.)
  • Tons of bug fixes (TB crashed, etc.)

  • Much much more..

This is a much needed upgrade for QuickNote users. Feedback welcome!
